My Heart

Decided to take my son to get his haircut early in preparation for my daughter's graduation on tomorrow. After Mr. Angel cleaned him up, I let him have a special lunch treat today. As we sat in the play land, he quickly made friends with another little boy.

I had a few business calls and follow ups to handle and before I knew it we'd been there for about an hour. He soon said, " Mommy I'm tired", so we cleaned up and  proceeded to leave. In the process, his little "friend" and his parents left.

After about 5 mins, we were strapped in and ready to head home. As we drove out of the parking lot, his little friend and his parents were crossing the street. Son says to me," Mommy they don't have a car, where's their car"? I responded," some people don't have cars son". In turn, his response was, " well let's turn around and give them a ride in my truck". My heart immediately swelled and my eyes watered. In my head, I began to play out the conversation I would have with these people and I turned around to find them. When I pulled next to them, I said," please do not think I'm crazy but it bothered my son that you all were walking, if you don't mind can I offer you all a ride? Do you have far to go"? The mom and dad were both extremely touched by the kind gesture. The father said, " Awe thanks little man that's super kind of you and like me, the little boy's momm was filled with tears. We finished exchanging kind words and they finished walking home, their complex was a few steps away.

In moments where we don't understand, messages are always given through our children. Just when we feel that it can't get any worse, a ray of hope enters.

Today, my son made my heart smile and I'm thankful. There's always someone, somewhere who has it worse. The test is always, how will you respond?

Signed,
With Love & Kindness

  4. Train up a child in the way that he should go and when he grows he will not depart form it. The traits that he exhibits are the ones you instilled in him. He is a good kid and you are a great mom. Great job and wonderful post.
